I convinced my parents i needed something other than Hi-Tec for my birthday and went to Sportique which was at the end of Roman Road Market.

Came out with a pair of Reebok Pump and a Champion tracksuit. I thought i was the Mutts nuts.

Growing up in the late 70s early 80s I dreamed of owning a pair of Adidas Bamba trainers however my parents could not afford them so I ended up wearing Zephyr trainers from Freeman, Hardy & Willis.

I do, however, now have 14 pairs of unworn Adidas Superstars in various colours bought on my travels around the world.

OneAll - Lacoste trainers look nice, but always thought it looks like you're off to play tennis, white ones anyway :-)

Earliest I remember would be the Nike trainers that Marty mcfly wore in back to the future. Had them with the red tick but favourite was with a sky blue tick.

Best, I’m not sure has so many pairs. Like maison margielas, had them in all different colours. Loved the Prada americas cup trainers and have been flying through Nike Jordan 1 lows for the past couple of years.

First pair of trainers I remember having in the mid-80’s was a pair of brown Pony trainers bought by my Mum. I had asked for a pair of Nike trainers.

First 'proper' pair were Adidas Kick, bought them in Teignmouth on a school trip.
Have had numerous pairs of Gazelles, and a few Stan Smith (the new version are VERY comfortable).
Favourite, Adidas Munchen. Plain but classy.

Think the first pair I bought were Nike air Jordan 4. Or Patrick Ewings as an alternative to British Knights that all my pals had.

Best I’ve had are between Nike air Mowabs, Y3 Kusari , and Pharrell HU’s as they are comfortable as you can get.

My first pair of trainers were Adidas. Can’t remember the name of them, but would’ve been mid seventies. I wasn’t allowed a big brand name pair of trainers, until I’d banged on about them for ages. I was proud as punch with them, they lasted 2 days. Me and my mates crossed a stream and I disappeared down some sort of hole in the stream. One of the trainers floated off down to God knows where. I often wonder where it landed up. China probably.

Favourite were an old pair of Pumas. Just loved the simple light blue on white design, before they started doing the more clunky soles. Colour of the soles were decent, not like some of the ones they do now, all fucking fluorescent orange and the like.

Also like the retro Karhu trainers, with the proper logo on it.

I loved my black Reeboks. The one that covered your ankles like a boot. The thing in the early 90s.

Also my white Prada’s with the red line and silver tips

The first pair I bought for myself were Converse All Stars. They weren't popular or fashionable back then and hardly anywhere sold them. I used to have to go up to Carnaby Street to get them. This was around 86/87
used to cost about £15.
Then that cunt Jamie Oliver started wearing them and they cost upwards of £60 these days. £75 if you want to design your own, which I have :)

I had a pair of Adiddas Munchen which I loved. Ive looked for them online but they're not the same as the ones I had in the 80's.

Lee Trundle 5:12 - AG!

First - I haven't a clue, maybe Puma Dallas or States back in the early Hip Hop days?
Maybe Adidas kick?

Best - If I could narrow it down I'd say Adidas ZX8000 is probably my favourite silhouette, They did a Gore tex one years ago that I wore to death.
I have a few different colourways of ZX8000.

Can I lock this now?

Reebok Classics - white

White Fred Perry's with a Claret and Blue trim around the sole were pretty special to me when I was younger.

Converse All Stars - still wear them.
Never really cared about fashion or labels but these fit me perfectly.
When I used to go caving Dunlop Green Flash were perfect. Tough, cheap and quick drying is a great combination.
